Everything Bradenton homeowners ask us most — our methods, safety, timing, pricing, and what to expect on the day.

General

What areas does SRQ Shield serve?

We serve Bradenton, Sarasota, Lakewood Ranch, and the surrounding communities across the greater SRQ area.

What is soft washing?

Soft washing is a low-pressure cleaning method that uses safe, biodegradable solutions to remove mold, algae, and grime from siding, stucco, lanais, and roofs — without the surface damage high pressure can cause.

Is soft washing safe for my roof?

Yes. Soft washing is the method recommended for shingle and tile roofs because it removes black streaks and algae without stripping granules or cracking tiles the way pressure washing can.

How much does paver sealing cost?

Pricing depends on square footage and the condition of the pavers, so we give a clear, itemized quote after a free on-site walkthrough — no vague estimates.

How often should I have my home soft washed?

Most Florida homes benefit from a soft wash every one to two years to stay ahead of the mold and algae our humidity encourages.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. SRQ Shield is fully insured for every job, so your home and property are protected from the first quote to the final walk-through.

How do I get a quote?

Fill out the form on our site or call or text us. We'll set up a free on-site walkthrough and give you clear, itemized pricing — usually the same day you reach out.

Do you charge for estimates?

Never. Every quote is free, walked in person, and comes with no pressure and no obligation.

Do I need to be home during the service?

Usually not. As long as we can access the areas being cleaned and an outdoor water spigot, most jobs don't require you to be home — we'll coordinate the details with you ahead of time.

How should I prepare for my appointment?

Move any small items — patio furniture, potted plants, vehicles — away from the work area if you can, and make sure we can reach an outdoor water source. We'll take care of the rest.

How long does a typical job take?

Most home exteriors take a few hours. Larger properties or paver sealing can run a full day. We'll give you a realistic time estimate along with your quote.

What payment methods do you accept?

We'll go over accepted payment methods when we provide your quote. Payment is due once the work is complete and you're happy with the results.

What if I'm not satisfied?

If something isn't right, tell us and we'll come back and make it right. Your satisfaction is the standard we hold every job to.

Soft Washing

What's the difference between soft washing and pressure washing?

Soft washing uses low pressure plus a cleaning solution that kills mold and algae at the root. Pressure washing blasts the surface with high pressure that can gouge stucco, etch siding, and tear screens. For most home exteriors, soft washing is safer and the results last far longer.

Will soft washing hurt my plants or landscaping?

No. We pre-wet and rinse the surrounding plants and use biodegradable solutions applied at low pressure, so your landscaping is protected throughout the job.

How long does a soft wash last?

Most Bradenton homes stay clean for one to two years, because our treatment kills the algae and mold at the root instead of just rinsing the surface.

Roof Cleaning

Is roof cleaning safe for shingles and tile?

Yes. We use a no-pressure soft wash that lifts algae and black streaks without stripping shingle granules or cracking tiles the way pressure washing can.

What are the black streaks on my roof?

That's a hardy algae that feeds on the limestone filler in shingles. Our treatment kills it at the root so it doesn't come right back like a surface rinse would.

How often should my roof be cleaned?

In Florida's humidity, every two to three years keeps algae from taking hold, protects your shingles, and keeps the roof looking new.

Window Cleaning

Do you clean interior windows too?

Yes — interior and exterior glass, plus screens, tracks, and sills, for a complete streak-free finish.

Do screens and tracks get cleaned?

They do. Screens, tracks, and sills are included, so the whole window looks better and opens and closes cleanly.

Can I add window cleaning to another service?

Absolutely. Most homeowners pair it with a soft wash so the entire exterior is finished in a single visit.

Paver Sealing

How long does paver sealing last?

A quality seal typically holds up three to five years in Florida before it's worth refreshing, depending on sun exposure and how much traffic the surface sees.

Will sealer make my pavers slippery?

No. We use a UV-stable sealer in the finish you choose — matte to wet-look — and can add an anti-slip additive for pool decks and lanais.

Do you fix sunken or uneven pavers?

Yes. We re-level sunken or shifted pavers and re-sand the joints before sealing, so the surface is flat, stable, and built to last.

Pressure Washing

What's the difference between pressure washing and soft washing?

Pressure washing uses high pressure and is right for hard surfaces like concrete driveways, sidewalks, and pool decks. Soft washing uses low pressure for delicate surfaces like siding, stucco, and roofs. We use whichever the surface calls for — and never high pressure on anything it could damage.

Will pressure washing damage my concrete or pavers?

Not when it's done right. We match the pressure to the surface and use a surface cleaner for an even finish, so you avoid the etching, swirl marks, and zebra striping an inexperienced job leaves behind. Pavers we usually clean, re-sand, and seal rather than blast.

What can you pressure wash?

Driveways, sidewalks, walkways, pool decks, patios, and other hard concrete or stone surfaces. For siding, screens, and roofs we switch to soft washing to protect the surface.

Gutter Cleaning

How often should I have my gutters cleaned?

In our area, twice a year is a good rule — more often if you have oaks or pines dropping debris. Clogged gutters overflow during summer storms and can rot fascia, so it pays to stay ahead of it.

What is gutter brightening?

The black vertical stripes on aluminum gutters (tiger striping) are oxidation and grime that a normal rinse won't remove. We soft-wash the gutter faces with the right solution to bring them back to a clean, uniform finish.

Do you clear the downspouts too?

Yes. We clear and flush the downspouts, not just the troughs — a clog in the downspout backs water up just as badly as a full gutter.
